Motel 6 Pulaski, TN

The staff member I spoke with was blasé when I reported the problems and asked for a refund. There was no urgency or accountability, just excuses, as if it were normal. The towels and sheets were dirty, several lights didn't work, and parts of the room were falling apart. I also saw what looked like black mold in the ceiling corners, and nothing seemed clean. I arrived exhausted and went straight to bed, then woke up with a roach crawling on my chest. Charging $80 a night for a place that felt neglected, unsanitary, and unfit for guests is outrageous. I don't usually write reviews like this, but people should know what they're walking into. This was unacceptable, and I'll never come back. Stay somewhere else.

The neighborhood felt pretty sketchy, so I'd advise staying in your room. Inside, though, the room was spacious and very clean, with hot water and great air-conditioning. The stairways up to the second floor were disgusting and badly needed cleaning.

The room smelled clean as soon as we walked in, and the beds were comfortable with clean linens. We were traveling with our two little dogs and a U-Haul truck while moving, and stayed just one night. I usually worry about getting a dirty room when I travel with dogs, and the hotel is old, but this was a great cheap stay. The staff were amazing at both check-in and check-out, and told us about morning coffee, granola bars, and a 10% discount at the restaurant. The restaurant next door was awesome, and the food was cooked fresh.

There was mold in several spots, including the walls, ceilings, bathroom, sink, and air conditioner. The bathroom had its own awful smell, like stale urine mixed with different kinds of mold and bacteria. The sheets on the beds were ripped, and the walls were paper thin. I'd avoid this place like the plague.
