After a 15-hour shift, I got there around 5 p.m. feeling dirty. The listing showed $68, but the clerk quoted me $89. When I pointed out the listed price, she acted unsure and offered a smaller room instead. I asked for a non-smoking room since I don't smoke. It cost less, but she still charged me $78 and called the extra amount “tax.” I’d like to see someone challenge that explanation. They’d probably just act like they had no idea what you meant.

At $75 a night, I think the rate is too high for the condition of the rooms. I've stayed here for months at a time, and ended up cleaning from top to bottom just to feel comfortable. The floors are especially bad. Don't walk barefoot or in white socks unless you want your feet to turn black. I'm sure they've never been steam-cleaned. Dusting is poor, the mirrors are dirty, and the walls and doors look like they've never been washed. There is plenty of furniture, though: two full-size beds with a little table between them, two dressers, a small dining table and two chairs, a couple of low coffee tables under the wall-mounted TV, plus a mini fridge with a microwave on top and a small coffee pot. The rooms are a decent size, but this isn't one of the cleanest motels around.

The room floors left my socks black, and what you pay seems to depend on the owner's mood. He charged me $80 a night, while his wife always charged $70. He calls the difference “tax.” I also saw him while checking out, supposedly cleaning a room. He pulled the sheets back into place on the bed after someone had slept in them the night before, without changing them. He's very intrusive about personal space and seems extremely cheap. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have no other choice.

The carpets are pretty gross, and a friend told me things had been stolen from their room after learning the manager had gone through it. That wasn't my experience before, but this time, after my fiancé and I rented a room for the day so my parents could stay in the afternoon and we could get a break from the other loons at home, the manager went through the room when we left and tried to charge us $30 for changing who was staying there. He'd never charged that before. I was staying here because it was closer, but I'll drive farther now. Not worth your time.

The toilet leaked, the sheets were gross and had cigarette holes, and the room smelled strongly of smoke. What made the place creepy was the owner opening the door while I was asleep, even though I told him room service wasn't needed because I didn't want anyone coming in whenever. He'd knock right before room service was supposed to clean, when he could have called instead, then open the door while I was sleeping. I'd have to pull the covers up quickly and tell him they didn't need to come in. This happened several times, even when I told him everything was fine.
