Breakfast was decent, the staff were friendly, the location was good, and the kids had fun at the pool. But our room was unbearably hot. We checked in later in the evening, got the kids to bed, and turned on the air. The fan ran, but there was no A/C, and the temperature stayed above 77 degrees, so nobody slept well. At the desk the next day, staff told me our room was already on the HVAC repair list. There were no other rooms available, so my family had knowingly been given a room with a problem. They brought us two box fans, but it stayed very uncomfortable, and we had two bad nights of sleep. One smoke detector was also out of order, with its backup battery compartment open and the battery not working. I’m going to try to contact the manager about compensation.

Cassandra was the best employee there, hands down. Amanda and Cassandra put together a good breakfast, but the same choices every week got repetitive: scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and eggs cooked well done. The front desk staff weren’t friendly or smiling. The entry has an electric fireplace, but through my freezing January stay nobody thought to switch it on. Guests remember small things like a smile, a greeting, or staff being approachable. Even changing up breakfast now and then would help. Cassandra stood out in every way.

The first room was about 77 degrees because the AC didn’t work. That usually wouldn’t matter in late December, but the weather was unusually warm. Ms. Lopez and the gentleman working the desk on the morning of the 26th were fantastic. They moved us to another room and checked in several times to make sure it was comfortable.

The rooms were decent, and breakfast was good. We were disappointed that the pool sat in the middle of the lobby. Also, we could never turn off the bathroom fan.

The inside has a cozier feel and looks nicer than any other Choice hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff were friendly and professional, the rooms looked recently renovated, and the pillows were great. They had good snacks, too.
