The only good part was breakfast. My wife and I had reserved a king room about 20 minutes before arriving, but there were no king or queen rooms available, so we got two doubles. They offered no apology compensation or reimbursement for the mistake. The door looked as though someone had broken it with a crowbar, but actually the slide lock had been used to hold it open. It was damaged and never repaired. The door connecting to an adjoining room had been left unlocked, and the tub spout leaked badly when I turned on the shower. I wouldn't stay here again.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hot shower had great water pressure. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was easy to book, and the hotel was a convenient drive from where we wanted to spend the next day, with easy access to 95 North/South. A good place to stay for a night or longer.

After two other local hotels gave us trouble, we were worn out, hungry, and traveling with our two little kids. Holiday Inn Express welcomed us like family. The Office Manager who checked us in was so warm and kind. It really felt like coming home. What lovely people!

The bed was really comfortable, and the place looks like it may have been renovated recently. Check-in was the letdown: the clerk handed me my keys, pointed out the elevator, and never said when breakfast started. I was also disappointed not to be acknowledged as an elite member. The morning woman, Shirl, was so nice, though, and we ended up chatting for what felt like ages. The breakfast staff were great too, easily four stars for them.

I'd stay here again, especially when I want food close by. The location and hospitality were both great. In the room, the AC was noisy and the thermostat was touchy, since changing it by just one degree made things either too hot or too cold. The shower was mediocre, though I've had worse, and the room felt a little dark. The mattress could use replacing.
