Hyatt Place Fredericksburg at Mary Washington

Breakfast was pretty good for the hotel price, with a good range of choices, though the eggs were always cold. The room was very clean, and there were no bugs. We had a king suite that was spacious, with a beautiful shower. The room itself was very nice, but opening and closing the door was difficult, and I think the phone was broken.

We came back to Hyatt Place - Mary Washington twice in three months while traveling. The rooms were clean and relaxing, the breakfast options were good, and the staff keeps this hotel a winner. Dedee and Zoe were welcoming and friendly at check-in and check-out, while Bertha kept the breakfast buffet clean and stocked with real efficiency and friendliness. If even a small issue affects your stay, the staff apologizes and tries to fix it. BRAVO for the consistency. We'll return! On our earlier stay, Zoe was attentive and thorough at check-in. The breakfast area was well arranged, with plenty of variety, including hot eggs, sausage, toast, and potatoes. Bertha and Medina were welcoming and kept replenishing the buffet with eggs even with less than half an hour left before breakfast ended. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. Ours had only a small refrigerator, but guests can use a microwave downstairs. The location is handy for shopping, groceries, and restaurants.

The personal attention here is what makes this Hyatt stand out. Everyone seemed to care about guest comfort. The place was spotless, close to shops and restaurants, and had that cozy, modern Hyatt feel that makes it feel like home. Check-in was smooth, with a warm and efficient welcome at the front desk. The woman in the breakfast area kept everything fresh and organized, and greeted guests with a smile. When I asked for a microwave, the staff member who brought it was quick, courteous, and professional. This stay at Hyatt Place Fredericksburg was amazing from the start. It reminded me why Hyatt is my preferred brand. Every stay impresses me, but Fredericksburg really raised the bar for hospitality.

The staff were very friendly, but I still don't think this hotel was worth what we paid. The pool was cold and cloudy during our stay, and breakfast could have been better. For some reason, they stopped putting food out after 8:30 a.m. Coffee should be available around the clock like at other hotels, especially at this price. Our bill had to be corrected a few times, and it took a while. Someone else had also booked our room and came in while we were there. Things like that can happen, but hopefully it isn't frequent. The hotel itself was pretty nice, though it's striking how many 3-star places aren't much different from 2-star hotels except for the price. In my opinion, save some money and stay at a 2-star place for the same service and amenities.
