Wine Country Inn

We stayed one night before visiting Enchanted Rock and were happy with the free breakfast. The place felt safe and comfortable, and it seems family owned. For a budget hotel, when things work as they should, you can't complain. The lights took a couple of seconds to turn on, so we thought they were out, but the front desk was helpful. Highly recommend Wine Country Inn Texas. Thank you!

The grounds are lovely and I never see any litter outside. It's also far enough from downtown noise, and breakfast is continental style. The rooms are comfortable, though the beds aren't as soft as mine at home. For $49 on a weekday, the rate is good, so this is my go-to when I'm in Fred. I'd like to see a desk clerk more often, since I needed to ask something and could never find anyone. I also asked for a higher floor and got the first floor. Next time I'll call ahead to make sure there are rooms available on the highest floors. I'll be back.

For a budget price, the breakfast was acceptable. The location was great for getting to DT Fredericksburg, and the rooms were completely clean. Even the hallways didn't have a “Smokey” smell. Breakfast was the only downside, but it suited the price. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff were very nice, and parking worked well for us since we used the handicap parking. The hotel is close to shops and restaurants, which was convenient. Inside, though, the beds were unusually high and rock hard, and the AC/heating system was outdated. There was old, molding food left in the microwave.
