I was driving from Chicago to PA in a nasty blizzard when I got stuck and had to stop. I’d never stayed at a Best Western before and found this location in desperation. I don’t need to check the other nearby hotels to know I picked the best one. The room was spotless, with furniture and decor that looked new, and the bed was more comfortable than my mattress at home. The pillows felt like clouds, and the comforter was almost like a weighted blanket. I got the best sleep I’ve had in a long time. I arrived at about 5:30 a.m. while they were setting up breakfast. It smelled so good, and there was plenty to choose from, including fresh waffles, eggs, grits, cereal, and fruit. The staff were alert and very welcoming despite the early hour and blizzard. There’s a large parking lot, clean, new amenities, and a handy spot off the highway. It was warm and quiet, a perfect oasis on a really stressful night. I firmly believe this is the BEST Best Western out there, and recommend it to anyone needing a safe, welcoming hotel.

I was dealing with a family death when this happened, and the hotel still hasn’t resolved the issue. Whenever I call, I’m told the managers are never in and that they’ll call back, but I never hear back. I paid for a room I didn’t stay in. After I checked in that evening, I asked for a refund, but they said I needed to give 24 hours’ notice to cancel. I’d only just arrived and had no plan to stay there. My husband and I had been on the road all day, and I was so exhausted I couldn’t drive farther. The first room was gross, smelled horrible, wasn’t clean, had unmade beds, and the door wouldn’t lock. I went back to the desk and asked for another room. In the next one, the beds were made, but the door still didn’t lock, it smelled bad, and there was bathroom stuff that hadn’t been cleaned up. We’d been in there less than five minutes before I went back to request a refund. The staff were very disrespectful. I’d never recommend bringing your family here. The hotel was gross, insecure, and seemed to care only about money, like a scummy landlord.

Cleanliness is my number one requirement, and the room was very clean. The staff were friendly, though I’m giving service four stars because of a few minor inconveniences. The in-room Kuerig had no K-cups, and breakfast coffee came from an instant machine. The hot food was scrambled eggs and biscuits, without gravy, which was fine by me. They’d run out of yogurt, and although there was a sign for omelets, none were in the fridge. There were lots of carb options like bread, English muffins, and oatmeal. Breakfast was satisfying.

The people were nice, but the place was dirty and I wasn’t satisfied with my stay. Huge piles of dog crap along the whole sidewalk had clearly been there a while. The sheets, which I hope were clean, looked like they’d been rolled up in a laundry cart for a week. The drains emptied slowly, and the toilet didn’t flush completely. Metal sticking out from the bed frame caught and tore my shoe, a real hazard. We wouldn’t even shower, and checked out hours before sunrise. We couldn’t sleep much anyway because light poured through the window, with no blinds or curtains. I rang the front desk bell and woke the desk person, who was staying in an adjacent room. I think the owners live there.
