Jace made check-in easy and was kind and accommodating. He got us the room we wanted in terms of location, bed setup, and floor. In the morning, Lois set up breakfast and kept checking how the food and our stay were. She was a delightful, kind person. The only thing I’d change is the internet box in the room. Its light stayed on all night and lit up the whole room. Hanging clothes in front of it helped block some of the light. Otherwise, it was a great place for the night.

The best part of our stay was Dre, the night attendant. His welcome was the most impressive I can remember since a late arrival at a small hotel in Dordrecht, Holland, 40 years ago. He explained everything skillfully, in a courteous and informative way that felt conversational. My wife and I both agreed his service made our stay more pleasant, and I think he has a great future in hospitality. The lobby also looked fresh and good. The bathroom was less impressive: the tub was chipped in two spots, and the repairs had failed, so it felt a little shopworn. After 60 years of staying in hotels and motels, I’ve found this one has its pluses and minuses.

Booking with the front desk and staying here were both great. Breakfast was hot, fresh, and healthy, and the serving and eating area was very clean and well organized. Lois hosted breakfast, and her caring attitude and eye for detail really stood out.

I was moved to another room after finding bugs and what may have been bedbug casings behind the mattress. Check for yourself. The carpet seemed clean at first, maybe because something had been sprayed on it, but a few hours later, once the scent faded, it smelled like dirty socks. The AC stopped cooling in the middle of the night. I reported it but didn’t ask to be moved again. There was a lot of noise from upstairs, and the breakfast was awful, especially the spoiled skim milk. They gave me 1,000 Bonvoy points as compensation, but they’re basically worthless. Don’t believe the good reviews, which may be from employees or their friends. Don’t stay here, you’ll regret it.
