Hyatt House Dallas/Frisco

The omelette bar made breakfast a highlight. Miguel prepared mine fresh to order, and it was flavorful and just right. Most hotels don’t reach this level of quality. Service throughout our stay at Hyatt House Dallas/Frisco was warm and attentive, and the place seemed very well managed. I’d definitely stay again.

Gabriel at the front desk really stands out. He knows the hotel, is friendly, and gives five star customer service. I hope he gets a raise and promotion soon. The hotel is modern, clean, well laid out, and the free breakfast was wonderful. The location is great, too. I didn’t learn about the parking charge until check-in because it wasn’t shown when I reserved through the Hyatt app. I understand why the hotel charges, but guests should be told clearly while booking. The hotel says non-guests park there, but then anyone can use the lot whether they’re staying or not. A windshield parking tag or gated lot could address that. As it stands, the lack of upfront notice felt like a sneaky way to squeeze extra money out of me. I hope they remove the fee or explain it before check-in.

We chose this hotel for its location near shops and restaurants and because Hyatt properties are usually dependable. The whole stay was a huge letdown. At check-in, the front desk woman was snappy, short with everyone, and visibly annoyed. It felt more like a performance than a welcome, and was off-putting. Our room looked neglected and was dirty and outdated. There were stains on the carpet, walls, and curtains, damaged furniture, and several cleanliness problems in the shower. It didn’t meet Hyatt standards. Housekeeping never came, even after we requested service three times and were told it would happen. We kept having to go downstairs for towels. They were old, frayed, thin, and extremely rough, and on our last day there weren’t even any bath sized towels available. One elevator stayed out for “maintenance” throughout our four day visit, so waits were miserable when it was busy. Eventually we left trash and used towels in the hallway, where they sat for almost 24 hours. It seemed like staff and management were overwhelmed or simply didn’t care. This property is poorly maintained and managed. We won’t stay again, and I’d strongly suggest one of the many other hotels nearby. Hyatt should take a hard look at the condition of the property and the lack of basic guest service.

At $300 a night, we expected much better. The room was outdated and dirty, with stains all over the blinds, duck tape on the counter, and crumbs and dirt in the cabinets. The bedroom was tiny, like a dorm room. They’re doing renovations, but all I saw was painting, and this place needs much more than that. Please don’t waste your money.
