The quiet was the best part for us. It’s probably the most peaceful place we’ve stayed on this trip, and the rooms are roomy, clean, and have good hot water pressure. The location is handy too, close to the interstate without the traffic noise, with restaurants, Walmart, and a grocery store nearby. Check-out is at 10 a.m., and the office closes at 10 p.m., so contact them before then for reservations or rate details. There are some practical drawbacks. The place feels dated, and the outlets are so loose that chargers fall out. There’s no room clock, and the mini fridge didn’t get cold enough to keep our food safe, so some of our things spoiled. The bed was very firm, and the scented laundry products gave me a headache soon after I lay down. The smell clung to my sleep clothes and body, then stank up our vehicle even though I kept the clothes in a bag. The headache stuck around too. Breakfast was just packaged Hostess danishes and Uncle Wally’s twin muffins, plus coffee that tasted like bitter hot water with no real coffee flavor. Our doorknob also took some figuring out: I had to push the key in firmly while pulling the knob with my other hand, or it would spin without opening. There are no luggage carts, so we had to put everything in the hall while unlocking the door. It locks behind you, so remember your key. A doorstop is provided, which helps. Other reviewers mention a hot tub and sauna, but we can’t speak to those, and we don’t know whether ice is available. Decent stay, as long as you know what to expect.
