Comfort Inn & Suites Fuquay Varina

We had cold showers on both mornings. At check-in I found there was no shower curtain, and the water wasn’t hot. I called the desk and General manager sia dhe said he’d check the valves and get back to me, but he never called. When I went down, he said he’d adjusted a heat valve and called a plumber. It was still cold when I returned to the room. Before leaving for an evening event, I asked for another room for when we got back. Instead, he said the water was now 120 degrees. It was hotter that night, but cold again the next morning. Robyn at the front desk was great, though she couldn’t offer compensation. I left my number for the general manager and asked for a full refund. I was told they hadn’t moved us because there wasn’t a comparable room. They should have offered another option and let us decide whether it was comparable. The carpet squares were lifting and easy to trip over, and the shower paint was peeling too. I do not recommend this hotel. It was NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.

For thirty dollars more than the nearby Quality Inn, this was well worth it. The breakfast had eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, several juices, butter, peanut butter, and the usual things you’d expect. The place looked mostly new, everything worked, and there were USB outlets including the C type. I have no complaints and can’t recommend it enough.

Most of the staff were friendly, though the breakfast person could be warmer. The selection was limited, and I don’t think the price matches what you get. My wife used to work as a housekeeper, and she says one of the best things you can do for privacy is put up the “do not disturb” sign. Here, they disregard it after three days. The room also wasn’t very clean and needs updating. They advertise a fitness room, but it was locked and looked like it was turning into storage. Hospitality Associates needs to come East.

The room was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly. The hallway carpet needs replacing. Breakfast was just okay: the hot choices weren’t great, with reheated frozen cheese omelets and sausage. There were waffles too, but I didn’t have time to try one.
