Canyon Cabins Lodging

We stopped for one night on our way to Yellowstone. Being south of town made it peaceful and close to the mountains. Honestly, I’d pick a cabin over a hotel any day.

That bed and those pillows were unbelievably comfortable. I usually bring my own pillow when I travel, but didn’t need it here. The cabin also had the basics, including kitchen utensils, a flat screen TV, and a small refrigerator, plus an upgraded AC unit and an instant water heater for anyone who likes a long shower. It’s conveniently located, and I had a wonderful week in the area. The people I met even made me want to stay and join the community. One thing to watch for when arriving: the turnoff comes up quickly. If you’re heading north, get ready as soon as you see the big barn. If you miss it, take the next turnout and use the entrance across the road.

Cabin 5 had a porch with a fantastic view straight out to the mountains. The bed was comfortable, and there was a nice TV and decent Wi-Fi. I’m happy to support an independent local place like this. The kitchen is a bit small if you’re planning to cook or stay longer, and oddly there were cups and silverware but no plates or bowls.

We were lucky to get Cabin 5, and the view from the back deck was breathtaking, mountains, open pasture, and the setting sun. The deck had comfortable wooden chairs and a picnic table. Inside, the cozy cabin was fully furnished with Wi-Fi, Direct TV, leather chairs, and the most comfortable bed my wife and I have ever slept on. We were blown away by our stay and plan to return as soon as we can, hopefully for a week.
