Hampton Inn Gallipolis

Service has been five-star, and the lobby looks much better. We’ve stayed several times, including once while renovations were underway, and it’s good to see the hotel being worked on. I’ve heard the rooms are getting major upgrades. I’d recommend it even before the renovations. Breakfast is the main thing I’d fault. It’s only offered on some days and could use an upgrade. The hotel might also look into door hydraulics so room doors don’t slam and wake up the whole floor, while still meeting fire code. That can take more funding than just fitting the hydraulics. Rates and breakfast quality seem to depend quite a bit on local business activity, which is understandable here. The huge commercial activity nearby may be a factor.

The pool and hot tub were a nice treat for our sports team after traveling. The room was nice too.

We’d stayed here before for gymnastics competitions without problems, but this visit was terrible. The room seemed clean until I looked more closely and found bed bugs. Staff wouldn’t refund us or even offer a discount.

It’s a comfortable, welcoming place in Gallipolis, with clean, well-kept rooms and friendly staff who made check-in and the stay easy. Breakfast was a nice start to the day, and the location made it convenient to get around. Nothing flashy, just the clean, quiet, comfortable stay and good service I want when traveling. I’d stay here again on a future trip to Gallipolis.
