Days Inn & Suites Red Rock-Gallup

We spent nearly two weeks here in November/December 2025, in a deluxe two queen room, and had a great time. It was spacious, with a good-sized bathroom. The sunrises were beautiful, especially during the balloon rally. The kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. We even found pool toys on clearance at local stores. Housekeeping was excellent and very nice. Staff were kind and accommodating, and small maintenance issues were fixed quickly. They can only know something needs attention if you tell them, right? The washer and dryer could use fixing. They cost $2 each, which is a good price, but our clothes came out wet and the dryer didn’t dry them properly. The location worked well, with the freeway entrance close by. There’s hiking at nearby Red Rock State Park, and Firerock Casino is about 10 minutes away. New sign-ups get freeplay, and there’s a shuttle from the hotel and back. No bars or clubs are nearby, and I think the closest bar is at the casino. There are loads of food and shopping options just a short drive away: Family Dollar/Dollar Tree within a minute, and Popeye's, KFC, Maverik, many Speedways, Denny's, Dick's BBQ, local restaurants, and plenty of fast food within five minutes. A couple of grocery stores are 5-8 minutes west. We’ll stay here again when we come back to see family. Thanks for a great stay!

The room looked run down, with water damage on the ceiling, worn carpet, and a scuffed dresser. For the condition, the price didn’t feel worthwhile. There were hidden fees at check-in, and the customer service was poor, a bit combative. When I asked questions, the man was rude and responded to being questioned by saying I shouldn’t stay. If you’re in a pinch and just need somewhere to sleep, it might do, but I won’t come back. If you do stay, take pictures when you check in to show any damage was already there and avoid being charged for it.

The rooms don’t look bad, but pigeons are living in the roof. Whenever you run the bathroom vent fan, feathers and bird droppings fall onto the floor in front of the toilet. You can hear them crawling around overhead all night, like big rats, though you can tell they’re pigeons. Someone could get sick from all the bird waste and filth.

The hotel’s automated phone system says the deposit will be refunded within 14 days, and dealing with the property means you don’t talk to people at the hotel or on the phone. Our card showed a pending charge that included the $50 deposit, which I expected, but after we left they still charged the full amount. Also, the light breakfast was just a fruit bar from Walmart.
