El Capitan motel

We slept comfortably and were happy with the room. It was clean, and the heater and air co worked really well. The bathroom floor was a bit slippery, maybe because too many chemicals and not enough water were used to clean it. We arrived late and rang the bell. The lady was friendly, gave us a nice non-smoking room for my son's asthma, and welcomed us even though we had several dogs. But we were charged $15 per dog, which doubled our bill. I later saw in the reviews that the fee is $10 per dog. We parked our moving truck and car inside the courtyard and felt safe there. There’s no grass for the dogs, and the walkways had little pointy barbed seeds that hurt their paws, so we had to pick them off.

The room was cute, clean, and nice, and the stay’s been good otherwise. But the guy tried to charge me $15 for my pet even though the wall clearly says the fee is $10. He also asked me how much the room cost, like I was supposed to know. The lady on the phone quoted $45, but he tried to charge me $50.

We only stayed because we’d already paid. The room was disgusting: bugs, gross sheets, covers, pillows, towels and carpet, nasty walls, and broken bathroom tiles. There were tweakers around, and you’d better bring your own soap. The rate said $45 a night, so that’s what we expected, but the woman charged us $60 and gave a receipt that didn’t explain the extra $15.

I found this place on a drive to Georgia and figured it might not be great for the price, but it was just for one night. The rooms were nasty, and the service from the Indian lady at the front desk was terrible. Their soda machine gave out warm, opened sodas. I went in to tell her, and she immediately raised her voice, said it wasn’t hers, and told me to contact the company. She seemed extremely irritated that I even brought it up. If it were my hotel, I’d want to know so it wouldn’t happen again. Apparently that’s not how this place sees it. Wouldn’t recommend it, even at that price.
