The evening manager was friendly and did her best to help us. But the room smelled awful, the repairs were subpar, and the place badly needs renovation. Our AC was broken. Someone was paged to check it, but nobody ever came. We should have received a discounted rate for that. The local economy seems to be struggling, but Marriott should have the resources to overhaul this pricey hotel. Marriott has been apologizing for it on other review sites for years, yet nothing has apparently been updated. I strongly don't recommend staying here. It's pretty gross.

Shopping, dining, and quick freeway access are all nearby, and the room itself was clean and modern. But room 412 had several maintenance issues: a wobbly desk chair, a burned-out light by the bed near the window, and some damaged bathroom baseboard. The thermostat and heater weren't working. The unit was unplugged, and after we plugged it in, it blinked green and red, while the thermostat still had no power. At 4 a.m. we called the desk. Mike came up but couldn't fix it and said he'd tell management. We weren't offered another room, so we bundled up in extra clothes. It was in the mid-20s outside, and we could feel the cold coming through the window. At checkout, I raised it with the woman at the desk. She said Mike hadn't left a note in the logbook and that management would need to review the issue before considering any compensation.

I'd specifically asked for a quiet room, but the new front desk agent put me in a noisy one. What a waste of money.

The coffee was barely drinkable, just weak brown water. Staff said they use three packs and it still comes out weak, so I figured management had chosen the cheapest coffee they could get. It’s useless and unappealing. Around 3 a.m., I parked behind the building right outside my room window. There were about half a dozen homeless people on the corner as I turned in. When I stepped out of the car, a beggar came up behind me asking for change or dollars. The way he approached could easily have led to a police incident.
