Baymont by Wyndham Galveston

The room and breakfast were just okay, and the food choices weren’t appealing to us beyond the coffee. Still, being close to the Port of Galveston was convenient since we were catching a cruise the next day.

We’ve stayed here a few times and usually appreciate the location and roomy accommodations. This visit fell short: there was a stain on the bathroom floor, and breakfast was especially sparse. We got coffee and apple juice, but no orange juice, yogurt, bacon, sausage, ham, or cheese, just scrambled eggs, bread, and butter. At $ 174.00, I’d expect a decent breakfast.

We had a clean room with a balcony, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast is served downstairs, and there’s a very small gym plus a laundry room. The location is handy too, right across from the sea wall, about a five-minute walk to the beach, with a liquor store, Walmart, Waffle House, McDonald's, and a gas station store nearby.

I’ve stayed at Baymont Galveston three times now, including about 15 days here, and the service has been consistently good. Alex is especially thoughtful. He handles special requests and even called before my stay when a package I’d accidentally sent to the hotel arrived. I’m a bit of a travel disaster, so maybe he’ll have a spare room key ready the next time I demagnetize mine. This place has started to feel like a second home while I juggle work and school and settle into a new area. The whole team is warm and helpful, and I end up hanging around the lobby to talk with them. My one suggestion is to have coffee there around the clock, instead of only from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. I’ve heard La Quinta across the street offers it all day, and I’ve been tempted, but I’d miss the people here too much to stay elsewhere. The comfort, amenities, value, and personal service make Baymont Galveston stand out for me, and I think it deserves recognition from Wyndham. Whether you’re visiting for work, school, or just passing through, the welcome feels personal and dependable.
