FOUR SEASONS on the gulf

My brother has a big family and usually needs two rooms when he travels, but these rooms were large enough that he didn't need them here. I stayed across the street, and he said the management was amazing. It was the most comfortable vacation stay we've had.

They charged me twice, then called while I was driving from DFW to say they couldn't honor our reservation because of bed bugs. I'd spent two weeks calling and texting without an answer, and heard from them only on check-in day. Never again. The only communication was about the bed bugs. I guess you get what you pay for.

Maranda was helpful, knowledgeable, and quick to respond, and check-in went great. We had a wonderful time at the Four Seasons. The place was very clean and spacious, and the balconies had a great view. Loved our stay!

We left three days early. Unit #11 at Four Seasons Gulf was so poorly maintained that it's hard to put into words. We had hot water and clean linens, but service wasn't available during the stay, so I haven't rated it. The photos show the rest: broken blinds, a rusty, broken dishwasher basket and a rusted coffee maker plate, melted spots on the microwave, and cracked or caved-in counters above the upstairs toilets. The sinks were rusty and had no drain covers. Paint was chipped along the baseboards and walls, making things look dirty. Bedroom furniture was falling apart and looked like it came from a college dorm sale. The kitchen table was uncomfortable and hard, the patio chairs didn't match, and the living room furniture looked like it was from another century, with pieces from different decades. The decor was so mismatched it felt like a bad bar. No ocean view makes up for the neglected condition. Since this is a timeshare with a board of directors, I have little confidence other units might be better. One other thing: smoking is posted as prohibited, but there's an ashtray on the deck.
