Galveston by 3rd Coast Getaways

The location was the best part of our stay at the Loft on the Strand 201 through 3rd Coast Getaways. Shops, restaurants, and attractions were an easy walk away, and the spacious layout and balcony overlooking The Strand were nice. But the condition and cleanliness made it hard to enjoy. There were ants, holes and dirty spots on the walls, thin stained towels, hair in the shower that wasn't ours, and sticky counters with wig hair on them. The balcony door lock didn't work, which made us uneasy. The listing also said there was a dishwasher, but there wasn't one. The stairs are steep, so pack light. When I contacted the manager, there was no apology or empathy, just a suggestion to use the ant spray under the sink. Later they offered a refund for the remaining two nights if we left, but we were in a busy tourist area without another place arranged, so that wasn't practical. It might suit someone focused on location who can put up with mediocre accommodations, but the poor maintenance, cleaning, and indifferent response would make me recommend it only if location is the top priority and discomfort is okay.
