Hotel Lucine

Parking was the only thing I’d gripe about, since it can be hard to find a spot. But I thought the experience was worth it, and I’ll definitely return on my next Galveston trip. I came from Houston for a mini staycation and was so happy with it. The hotel is gorgeous, with an aesthetic that reminded me of Palm Springs. Every staff member I met was incredibly kind and gave stellar service. The pool seemed slightly heated at night, which was perfect, and the food at The Fancy was delicious.

Breakfast alone will get you out of that comfy bed: made-to-order breakfast tacos, then a cup of freshly brewed coffee. The kitchen makes most, if not all, of its dishes from scratch, and the food was an experience I haven’t found surpassed in the area. I wasn’t sure about the place when we arrived. Right on the beach, it looked at first like another hotel that had just gotten a coat of paint and been called remodeled. I was totally wrong. Parking isn’t the best, but it’s Galveston, so you make do with what you’ve got. The rooms are cozy and use their space well, and the staff are amazing, like they could fit right into any five-star hotel in the world. We’ve found our go-to place on the island. This is the hidden gem of boulevard, and we’ll be back.

The room was comfortable, the bed cozy, and even the coffee smelled amazing as we checked out. We loved relaxing by the pool and spending time on the beautiful patio, and the bar service was great. Hotel Lucine’s retro look and overall aesthetic are so well done. We also really appreciated that it’s pet-friendly. My husband and I loved our stay and will definitely be back.

The lobby, pool area, deck, and room were all precious, with such a great retro look. Once we stepped inside, we were blown away. It felt like walking into a secret garden. What a wonderful hidden gem, we’ve found our new favorite place! Honestly, the surrounding buildings, parking lot, and outside of the hotel had us a little spooked when we first pulled up.
