A guest and their partner came out of their room and charged at my wife and me with a gun. We felt unsafe. The situation got worse, and I didn’t think the staff handled it properly or made sure guests were safe. Please run, run, run. Never stay here. The property was also dirty, with bugs and poor maintenance, and the place felt unsafe and badly managed. I didn’t feel protected as a guest, so I can’t recommend staying here. This is only my personal experience.

The location was close to the ocean, but I found the place scary and filthy. I hate leaving a bad review and would like to give the owners the benefit of the doubt, but the room was absolutely unacceptable. If the Lone Star Rally hadn’t been happening that weekend, I would’ve gone somewhere else. With nowhere available, I seriously considered sleeping in our truck. I barely slept because I didn’t want to touch anything and the smells set off my allergies. The mold and cigarette smoke odor was awful, and the A/C barely worked. The bathroom was dirty, and I had to clean the sink and toilet myself with the Clorox wipes and Lysol I’d brought. Only one of its three light sockets had a bulb. The sheets were stained, and I slept in my clothes with my husband, keeping all the bedding off us. We used the towels, one black and one stained grayish white, to cover the pillows. They did smell like laundry soap, and I had my own blanket. The room looked run down in every direction. The curtains were moth eaten and pinned up haphazardly; the ceiling looked like it could cave in, and the walls were filthy. It needed vacuuming, and there was a dirty towel in the corner. The smoke detector was gone, with wires hanging out of the wall. An old kitchenette was to the right as we entered, with its cabinet doors missing and an exposed hot water tank in the corner. The unplugged mini fridge and microwave had been pulled away from the wall. One of the two TVs wouldn’t turn on, and the cable was draped randomly across the wall and a picture. I thought it had to be a really, really bad joke. The Bates Motel would have felt more relaxing.

The room didn’t feel safe or sanitary, so I returned the keys right away and didn’t stay. The door barely worked, there were visible cracks and what might have been water damage, and stains marked the room, including the bedding. This property needs serious repairs and proper cleaning. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We went to look at a room because of the low rating, and quickly understood why it was so bad. The building is falling apart and the inside is dirty. The woman was very rude, and her behavior made us feel that staying there wouldn’t be safe.
