Econo Lodge Painted Post - Corning

Finding the place was the one snag, and a bigger sign would help. Otherwise, my dad and I had a great stay when we came to play golf, 9/15- 9/17/25. The staff were friendly, and both the room and breakfast were nice. We'd come back.

The rooms, hallways, and the rest of the place were clean, and there was plenty of parking. I liked seeing a curry tree and other fun plants in the lobby. I tend to think a franchise that takes care of its plants is likely to be a nicer place, and that seemed true here. The people were very nice too, and they served a proper breakfast in the morning with waffles, yogurt, juice, and more. They also have rooms with two queens instead of full beds, which makes a big difference if you're traveling with tall or big people.

I gave this Econolodge a try because of the good reviews, even though I usually avoid the chain for obvious reasons. It was modern and clean, and not like a typical Econolodge. If you're expecting a five-star breakfast, stay at a Marriott.

The breakfast could use more options for a child with a gluten allergy, since my daughter didn't have much she could eat. The hotel itself was very clean and well kept, and the staff were extremely kind and helpful. We'd asked for a roll-away bed, and it was already set up when we arrived. There's no elevator, so you have to carry your things up the stairs. That didn't bother us, but it's useful to know when stopping here on a road trip.
