Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Murrells Inlet, SC

We canceled and left. The hotel reeked of weed, and I had a minor child with me. We drove up the beach to Surfside and stayed at the Quality Inn instead. It was clean, beautiful, and accommodating for the same price. I filed a complaint and got my money back. Don’t waste your time or money at the country Inn Radisson in Murrells Inlet. The hotel is conveniently located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, but it was under reconstruction and seemed like it needed the work. Nothing worked. There was no ice maker, continental breakfast, or swimming pool. The TVs seemed unreliable, the rooms and halls were filthy, and everything was torn apart, dusty, dirty, and soiled, with debris everywhere. The receptionist wasn’t helpful, and the whole experience was horrible.

The room and hallway were disgusting, and there was mold in the room. The mattress was lumpy. The room had a Jacuzzi tub, but its water was turned off and there was no spigot. Breakfast was listed as included, but none was served because of the remodel. When we complained, the front desk brushed us off. We asked for a manager and were told none was on duty.

Renovations have been going on for a long time. I understood that breakfast wasn’t available, but when the coffee pitcher was empty, the desk lady was rude about making more and acted like I was wasting her time. Our ceiling had mold, the shower handle spun in circles and made it hard to get hot water, and a bathroom bulb was missing. At checkout, the same desk lady was rude when we asked for a receipt.

I’ve never reviewed a place before, but this was easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The whole building smelled of cigarette smoke and was nasty. There was someone else’s hair in the bed and small blood stains on the sheets when we arrived. The attendant acted like this was normal for them. Absolutely horrible experience.
