Seawatch Landing

I love having a washer and dryer in the unit, and the kitchen has the basic necessities. But after coming every year, I’ve watched this old inn go downhill. You’re not booking a Hilton, and some rooms have average beds, but ours had the most worn-out, uncomfortable beds ever. The bedding wasn’t great either, so bring your own blankets or ask for some at check-in. The patio furniture was broken, too. The pool was the worst part this visit. It needs cleaning, and nobody seemed to be looking after it. I usually see it cleaned each morning, but not this time. The chairs are in terrible shape and haven’t been replaced in at least four years. The pool umbrellas are gone, so there’s no shade during the day. It’s usually crowded, but this time hardly anyone was in it. It was just too gross. Seawatch, please take care of your customers. You have a great thing here.

Miss Kathy at the front desk made us feel right at home. She was warm and helpful, went out of her way to suggest fishing spots, and had a wonderful personality. Maintenance also came and gave us two that we needed. The balcony view was amazing, and our two-room setup with a kitchen and living room had everything we needed. It was an amazing trip, and I’d recommend this place to anyone.

I’m usually careful about how I write reviews, but I can’t let this go. My husband and I have been Holiday Inn club vacations members for 16 years, and this was my birthday getaway. The place looked nothing like the pictures. It was run-down and outdated, with appliances that leaked or didn’t work right. Our room had black mold in the shower and smelled musty and moldy. I got very sick, and we left after two nights. I had to find a clean place through VRBO, then spent the rest of my vacation recovering from what I believe was mold exposure. The woman at the front desk seemed concerned and said she’d send all the paperwork to Holiday Inn club vacations. Days went by with no word, so I contacted them myself. They said that because I hadn’t called until then, they couldn’t reimburse my points or fees, and offered $100 in my account. Thanks for nothing. Be careful booking here. Very disappointed.

The staff at Seawatch Inn were very nice and accommodating, and we enjoyed our three-night stay with eight family members over the grandchildren’s Spring Break. The views are amazing, and it was easy to walk to the beach, pier, arcade, small grocery store, bars, restaurants, and ice cream shops. Sleep was the hard part. Loud bar music, motorcycles, and traffic kept going until the local bars closed around 2-3 am. That noise is outside Seawatch’s control, but it made it difficult to rest. We did enjoy the visit and will probably return, unless we find somewhere quieter with fewer bars and nightclubs nearby.
