Clarion Inn Garden City

The staff are what make this place good, and it has amenities that work well for business stays. Still, the hotel needs an update. Every workout machine is old and broken. The heated pool stays cold because it uses the hot tub’s water, and then the hot tub is cold until it warms back up. The people are great, but the hotel itself needs work.

Liz was outside cleaning when we arrived and got us into a great room right away. Since the restaurant had closed earlier that Sunday, she also offered several dinner suggestions. The room was clean and quiet, and we had a great stay. Vera handled checkout the next morning. Good location, and I’d recommend it mostly because the staff were so courteous.

We booked around 10 rooms, and the people were friendly. Check-in and checkout were easy, and everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast machines weren’t working, so there was no coffee or juice to drink, but aside from that, it was a good stay.

The room was clean and nice, but the lack of clear information about the charges spoiled the stay. There was a pending $118 amount when the room itself was only about $95, plus a $20 incidental. No one told me to expect both a deposit and incidental charge. When I called about the $20, I got attitude, so I didn’t even ask about the difference between the room price and the $118. Clarion, that’s bad business. Be upfront with people. I probably won’t stay again. Reply to Clarion: The reservation was under Angela kemp. Choice still hasn’t changed my name since I got married. The $118 charge changed and posted at the correct rate with taxes and fees, but the $20 incidental deposit still hadn’t been refunded. There was no damage to the room.
