Vara Guest House

The courtyard out back was lovely, shared by just a few residents, and we enjoyed watching the birds come in every evening. The location felt very safe, the rent was reasonable, and nothing went missing during our stay. We spent three months in one of Alex's cabins while waiting for our housing to open up, and had the BEST experience. Our little cabin was quaint, extremely clean, and smelled amazing when we arrived. Alex was always on site and helpful, and took excellent care of the cabin and facilities. We never had a need or a negative experience. We highly recommend Vera Guest House!

I only stayed one night as a stopover on my way across the country, and I really wish it could have been longer. The place is calm, pretty, clean, and everything works perfectly. Alex, who looks after the place, and his wife, Cindy, were especially warm, open, and friendly. I loved talking with them and was deeply touched by their hospitality. I definitely recommend it. This was the best quality/price ratio I found while traveling across the south!

We were sorry to have to relocate to Abilene, because finding another nice place with hosts as kind as these would be hard to beat. My husband stayed for two weeks and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was. Alex and Cindy were super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We highly recommend staying at the Vara Guest house.

I’ve stayed at a lot of places as a traveling wind technician, but Vara guest house is the only place where I’ve truly felt at home. Alex and his wife are some of the kindest people you’ll meet, and they do their best to make guests comfortable and relaxed. Ask for anything and they’ll make sure it gets taken care of. There are two outdoor patios for hanging out, and one has a TV with different streaming options. They also have cheap onsite washers and dryers, a clean public restroom and shower, and public bbq pits.
