Super 8 by Wyndham Gardnerville Topaz Lake

The rooms were clean, and the staff were very friendly and worked their butts off. Even with a busy restaurant, we got prompt, friendly service. Those people deserve a raise. My only other gripe is that some areas need new concrete work. I also sneezed a few times in the room, since I’m allergic to pets and they allow them. Still, it was a great place to stay, 4.5 out of 5.

The lake view is gorgeous, and I’d totally stay here again. It’s a cool old hotel, but very clean, especially the rooms. There aren’t coffee makers, microwaves or mini fridges in the rooms, so plan accordingly. One nice extra is a free drink just for staying.

Nothing especially good or disappointing stood out. It was a typical Super 8 stay, and I’d come back since the experience was good overall. The room had basic coffee service and a small flat-screen TV, but no fridge. The coffee shop serves decent basic American food with a spectacular lake view. There’s also a Steak House, where our group had dinner. The meal was quite good, but the decor was so dated that it felt like eating at Grandma’s rather than in a fine dining place.

I didn’t expect the area to be so beautiful. The rooms have amazing lake views, and the place was very clean. Staff were polite and helpful, and the rates are on the cheaper end for hotels. It could use an update, but otherwise it was a cozy, comfortable and affordable place near lots of other scenic spots. I’d stay again if I were in the area and just needed somewhere to sleep, shower and get a good meal.
