I spent two weeks here and had no issues with the property. The suite was fantastic, cozy, affordable, and convenient, with a stove that made it feel like a home away from home. If you smoke, you'll probably like the fourth floor. Laundry is coin-operated and costs just $2 per wash or dry. The staff were wonderful and accommodating. Enesa deserves a raise. She made my stay feel more like home, and I can't thank her enough for going above and beyond for customers. Jordan was friendly, kind, and quick to help even at 3 a.m. Valerie was welcoming, always around, and gave excellent customer service.

Valerie at the front desk went out of her way to be kind. When I had groceries delivered while working, she brought them up on a cart because she didn't want anyone messing with my things. Martha, who I was told runs housekeeping, did a fantastic job cleaning the room and making the bed while we were at a meeting. They replaced our dirty towels with fresh ones for free. Another desk worker, maybe Chris, gave us replacement key cards at no charge after explaining that keeping a card near electronics can erase it. The room has some problems that aren't the staff's fault, like a broken bathroom lock, a missing kitchen cabinet door beside the microwave, and part of the microwave coming loose. There was one cockroach a few days ago, but nothing crazy. The owners should keep on top of these issues. The staff, though, are kind and competent, and this could be a useful last-minute place in an emergency. The building's front door and laundry room door can be finicky, with a particular way you need to use them, but you eventually get used to it. It's simple, quiet, and peaceful most of the time, unless you happen to get a loud, inconsiderate guest above or beside you. A decent option if you're dealing with a lot, traveling, on the go, or on a mission. I hope they give Valerie and Martha raises before a bigger hotel poaches them.

The manager and the woman who works evenings were very nice. My stay was good until the new lady was hired. She told me one thing, then lied about what she had said several times. I can't stand a liar.

Before arriving, I called and spoke with Valerie about payment and deposit policies. She gave me a lot of different information from what the policies turned out to be. She said booking directly would mean a lower incidental fee than using a third party, and that Expedia was the third party that charged one. Once I got to the hotel, the air conditioning in my room wasn't working, and there was a smell like an electrical issue. I politely asked to move rooms. Valerie had to convince the owner, Michael, that my room wasn't suitable before she moved us. In the new room with my son, I saw a roach and smelled mildew. I was worried about our safety and health, but was willing to give it a chance since we'd moved out and into this place. At 10 a.m. the next day, the front desk receptionist knocked and asked whether I was checking out. I said I had a reservation for another day that I'd paid for. She said I needed to come down to pay an incidental fee. I asked her to call the boss because I'd been told several different things even before check-in. Michael's answer was, “I don’t want you to stay at my hotel. You can come get your stuff and leave.” When I got there, one of the maids was trying to move my things out. I couldn't believe it. I've never been treated like that while spending my money and traveling with my child. I wasn't rude, disrespectful, or causing trouble. Valerie had said booking directly would avoid extra fees, but when I went to pay for another night, the hotel's system charged more than the reservation on the woodspring website. It also seemed like something wasn't right with the money. Michael is a horrible person, and I think he's crooked. He owns a few hotels and acts as if he's better than his customers. I wouldn't stay here or support his business, even if desperate. The MyPlace hotel across from them should treat you much better. Please don't stay here. I'm not an angry customer, just a mistreated one.

The rooms didn't look like the online pictures, and there were bugs. We spent only a few hours in the room, sleeping in shifts to watch out for roaches and bed bugs. 🤢🦟🪳🪰 There's no front desk staff around the clock, so arrive before 8 PM or you'll be charged extra to check in. Booking through a third party means a $50 deposit at check-in, plus a pet deposit if you have pets. Seven days later, my deposit still hadn't been refunded, and I think they may be hoping guests forget about it. Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else!
