Best Western Gastonia

It was quiet the whole time, and check-in and check-out were easy. My room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, and the staff were warm and available whenever I needed something. I felt looked after during my stay at Best Western. I’d gladly recommend it for comfort and helpful service, and I’ll stay here again.

We needed one night for a wedding in Dallas, NC, and this turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The owners seem to run it as a family place, and it was well kept and just right for a short stay. We paid a small extra amount for early check-in so we could get ready on time. The room was simple but clean, with good A/C, lighting, and a nice bathroom. Breakfast had a good selection, though Cracker Barrel and Waffle House are only 20 steps away. It’s right off the highway, about 20 minutes from both the airport and the wedding. We had initially picked an Airbnb, but the price was similar and BW offered early check-in, breakfast, and a better location. I’d stay again if I’m back in the area. Thanks to the owners!

Opal and "Cheeks" are real assets to the company and Brand. They’re the kind of employees who bring people back, so don’t lose them. I’ve been a rewards member for years, and it’s well worth joining: points never expire, service in person and over the phone is excellent, and Best Western often has promotions for double points or a free night. Prices are good, rooms are comfortable and don’t have a bad odor, the sheets and towels are crisp and clean, and there’s a free buffet breakfast with plenty of choices. The problem is housekeeping. I shouldn’t have to bring Lysol wipes and clean myself. The room looked and smelled nice, but I could see dirt on the nightstands, microwave, light switches, and bathroom wall. It all came off with the wipes, but cleaning is what I’m paying for. I don’t leave housekeeping tips anymore.

The front desk guy was exceptionally friendly, and the workers seemed to be trying hard. The price wasn’t too bad either. Still, this place looked a lot better on Google. The website photographer deserves five stars for those flattering pictures. I wasn’t horrified when I arrived, but I definitely noticed the difference.
