The location was the main draw. We could walk into town easily and parking was free, though once we had to use the overflow lot. Walking back through the alleys after dark felt a little scary, but otherwise we felt completely safe. Our fourth-floor room smelled strongly of marijuana even though the hotel is supposed to be non-smoking. We had to insist it wasn't just air freshener before they moved us to a first-floor room. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable enough that I wanted my own bed every night. The TV had lots of channels, the shower was nice, and the AC and heater worked well without being loud. The pool was cozy and actually heated, and staff offered to warm it further. Breakfast was decent, with bread, bagels, muffins, cereal, yogurt, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausage or fried chicken patties, and waffles. The hotel should enforce quiet hours, though, because kids were screaming and running around near our noisy neighbors.
