We liked this place a lot. The rooms are decent, and birdwatchers will enjoy how many birds are around. It's a short distance from town and a bit of a drive to Pigeon Forge. There's a continental breakfast, though for a really good one I'd go to Over Easy Al's or Davy Crockets Breakfast Camp. The key cards weren't programmed properly, so we couldn't get into our room until the office fixed them. There's also an outdoor pool and hot tub.

This is a fair budget option, especially for the price compared with other Gatlinburg hotels. Our renovated room was spacious and clean when we arrived, and the A/C, mini fridge, TV, hairdryer, iron, and microwave all worked. The fireplace didn't. The rest of the older hotel is showing its age and could use renovation. The shower got hot, though the water pressure was weak, and the bed was comfortable but creaked. Housekeeping was the main drawback: each day we got fresh towels and the trash was emptied, but the bed and bathroom were never cleaned. We had to ask the desk for toilet paper, and by the end of the week the room was quite dirty. The north end location isn't within walking distance of downtown, but a nearby free trolley stop saves you from paying to park there. Breakfast is served until 9 and includes eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, and more. The outdoor pool is very small. Parking was a little odd, but we always found a spot. There's just one handicapped space in front.

We got snowed in around Gatlinburg and needed an inexpensive motel at the last minute. We wanted somewhere safe and walkable in case the roads iced over, and this place was a pleasant surprise. We showed up without calling or booking, paid cash, and a friendly older man got us a double queen on the fifth floor, room 507. Since I used to work in hotels, I felt fairly safe from bears and other guests. The receptionist checked both our IDs and kept a card on file in case we extended our stay. The room was tidy, looked out over downtown Gatlinburg, had a clean bathroom, and three locks. We didn't see bugs, though it was January in a snowstorm. Breakfast was decent, and I highly recommend the orange juice. The coffee was barely drinkable, but it did the job. Once breakfast ends, the room is locked, so you'll need coffee elsewhere; breakfast is on the second floor and means going out into the weather. We booked one night, then adding another actually lowered the rate. Plan ahead about parking: they usually allow one car per room, with 86 spaces for 85 rooms. The motel was mostly empty when we arrived, so the receptionist let us park both cars. It's very walkable to downtown attractions, and while we didn't see bears, the same man salted the lot, sidewalks, and stairs himself. I'd recommend it if you're not too picky: safe, clean, efficient, no bugs during our stay, and well placed for walking around Gatlinburg or driving to Knoxville or Pigeon Forge.

Friendly, welcoming people at the office, and the room was clean and affordable. We were really happy with the breakfast and the value. It's close to the main strip but far enough away to avoid the chaos. We loved staying here and would recommend it.

The stay was mostly quiet, though barking dogs were annoying at times. People with dogs live there, and I hadn't realized this was an extended-stay place. It reminded me of apartment living, except for the bugs. I woke up to ants in the bed, and also had rollie pollies and centipeds in the room. I booked hoping for a mountain-view room, but was put in a pet room even though I wasn't traveling with a pet. I won't stay again. Future guests may want to call ahead to make sure they don't end up in the same situation.
