The Historic Gatlinburg Inn

The staff at the Gatlinburg Inn are always pleasant and very helpful. We've stayed there for years, first in suite rooms and now in a king room with a loveseat. We love getting a first-floor room because it makes the walk to breakfast manageable when we can't walk very far. The Gatlinburg Inn feels like our home away from home.

The location made it easy to get around Gatlinburg, and the quaint rooms suited the historic hotel. Breakfast was delicious. Our problem was the neighbors repeatedly slamming doors around midnight. We were on the first floor near the desk, and I expected someone there might ask them to be considerate. Since the doors are old, it could help to mention the noise to guests at check-in.

The Gatlinburg Inn has a lot of character, and we really enjoyed staying there. We could leave the car and walk along the strip from its central spot. The rooms are on the small side and don't have all the modern features of big chain hotels, but ours felt cozy, and having a private balcony was a lovely bonus. Staff were warm and helpful, and breakfast was free and better than the usual continental fare. We'd happily return for the location and atmosphere.

Being right in Gatlinburg meant we could walk to plenty of shops and restaurants. The people were friendly, and I loved both the historic feel and the complimentary full breakfast. There’s no fridge or microwave in the rooms, though every room has a balcony. In cooler weather, you could keep a cooler out there and use it like a refrigerator. I'd stay again.
