Read the whole description before booking. I reserved through Airbnb but was sent to the Hive app to check in, which I don’t understand. The location is great, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the Lake Breeze cottage has a nice enclosed sunroom. But there are no closets, the only sink is under the bathroom vanity, and I was surprised there wasn’t even a coffee pot. A Keurig would hardly take up any space. It seems like they’re updating the place, so maybe we’ll check it out again next year.

My email exchange with them has been helpful so far, though there’s no direct phone number, so be patient. If you bring a pet, putting down a deposit is a bit of a hassle. We stayed in the Gateway Cabin. The cabin was clean, the AC worked well, and the fridge/freezer was a decent size for a small place. There’s a fold-out bed in the living room couch, and the little microwave works well, though it’s awkward to use. The owners can be texted after the code is sent on the day of arrival. The room had no coffee maker, which wouldn’t matter if there were places to walk to for early coffee, but they weren’t open. One bedroom’s outlets only worked when its overhead light was on. The other room’s outlets were fine. The beds barely fit in each bedroom. There wasn’t really room to park. A large family group had been there a while, and after one car left, someone put lawn chairs in its spot to hold it. The host mentioned overflow parking across the street, but it wasn’t very accessible. Maybe there’s more parking in the off season. The boardwalk is a steep set of concrete steps down to the beach, and I definitely needed to hold the out-of-shape handrails. It seems like a perfect location if you enjoy being outside or walking around. It’s also very biker-friendly, which brings people for bike week. We paid for two nights but decided to leave after one. Checkout was easy since there was no key to return.

We booked from Wednesday to Saturday. Check-in was easy, communication was good, and the rooms were really nice and clean. This is our new favorite place to book. We love that it’s pet-friendly and can’t wait to bring the pups next time. The little beach below was lovely, and we made good use of it.

We came the second weekend in October, off season, and got a really good rate on a Jr Suite in the motel section. Check-in was tricky because I never got the instructions for self check-in, but a gentleman helped us pretty quickly. The modern door access is easy and impressive. The rooms were clean, and the current AC/heater worked well. The property hasn’t been updated in a long time and shows its age, though the sink-and-stove combination has a certain vintage charm. The burner I used for apple cider worked fine, and it was clean. I was glad to have a kitchenette. The main bed was comfortable but plain and oddly set on a 2x4 frame very close to one wall. I didn’t open the sofa bed, but it looked clean and in order. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure, and they provided shampoo, conditioner, and soap for both of us. The towels were pretty small. The beach is small and reached by a long, steep staircase. There was quite a bit of washed-up garbage, though I can’t say if that’s normal since it was late in the year. This is a nice spot for people or families who want to stay right on Lake Erie without spending too much. Management seems to be making improvements, starting with the essentials. Parking is difficult, and I wouldn’t recommend it for people with mobility issues. We enjoyed our one-night stay. Thanks!

The “cottages” have just a bathroom, two bedrooms, and a sitting area with a TV and very little furniture. There isn’t a kitchen or even a sink.
