Country Inn-Giddings

Roaches are everywhere, and they didn't say they'd even try to clean them up.

The rate was reasonable, especially by the week, and there's a police station across the street, about 300 feet away, for anyone concerned about safety. I stayed three weeks in a recently renovated room. The bed was very comfortable; the clean sheets and pillows smelled fresh, the hot water and pressure were great, and the AC worked flawlessly at 69-70 F the whole time, which you need in South Central Texas. The strong Wi-Fi and Phillips Roku TV worked well, and there was Dish Network with premium channels too. They cleaned every few days, bringing fresh towels, taking out the trash, and sweeping. That was plenty for me, though they offered to come daily. They sprayed for insects each week, and I never saw a roach or spider. Reba’s, just a few blocks away, is an amazing restaurant, and the salads are awesome. It ain't the Taj, but it was reasonably priced.

I don't recommend it. My room had dead bugs and dust everywhere, with stains on the sheets, pillows, walls, door, and bathtub. The hand sink drain was broken, and there was just conditioner and a bar of soap. The toilet paper was nearly gone too. The staff gave me the creeps. One of the suckiest hotels I've ever seen.

It's a small, quaint motel, and I'll stay again. Our first room, a smoking room, was a little dirty and didn't seem updated, which I run into often with smoking rooms. The TV didn't work either, but they quickly moved us. The next room was really nice, and the bed was very comfy.
