Baymont by Wyndham Gillette

It’s been updated or renovated and can do the job. Some things, like the bathtubs, still feel outdated. If you just need an inexpensive place to sleep during a long trip, I’d recommend it.

The front desk staff were kind, but the room was terrible. The heater was broken, so it was freezing, and the TV antenna didn’t work either. The mini fridge made a loud ticking sound, so I had to unplug it.

I got my money’s worth here. The internet was excellent, and there was a decent desk setup for working remotely. There’s also a serious safety issue in the bathroom: the hanger on the door is positioned where it’s easy to walk into. I nearly injured my eye on it. Management should move it or remove it to prevent an accident. It feels more like a weapon than a convenience. See the attached photo for reference.

We left early and I was refused a refund by the owners. At first we stuck it out because we were exhausted after a seven-hour drive, but the room smelled of cigarette smoke and the floor was so dirty we had to brush our feet before getting into bed. In the morning, a car next to us had been vandalized. When we returned, the odor was worse; searching for its source, we found a cigarette butt on the floor. We’d had enough and checked out early. I wouldn’t recommend this place or stay there again, even if it were the last one in Gillette.
