The wifi was the big letdown for us. We both work from home, and although we expected slow internet and no cell service, the connection barely held: usually one bar, cutting out every minute or two, with under 4 Mbps down and under 0.7 up. Email was hard to manage. Since you're out in the woods, don't count on finding a clear night sky for Starlink either, so plan ahead. Still, it's a peaceful, quiet place to get away, with a lovely location for unwinding. There's plenty to do away from the mountain, including two pools, two hot tubs, a sauna, racquetball, tennis, and well-kept hiking trails. The grounds are beautiful, though the facility itself feels dated. If you're looking to disconnect, I'd highly recommend it.
The river is lovely, and the trails are well maintained. You can get plenty of steps in without leaving the property, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They just don't seem focused on keeping the wifi available. If staying connected to your office or family matters, including through wifi calling, I'd avoid relying on this place. They say the internet is enough for email, and that may be true once or twice a day, but it's not dependable for checking in with a team, opening sites for information, or calling family. The chance of those things working feels like zero. Guests have been told fiber is coming, but that promise has been around for months.
The setting is wonderful, with big trees, forest all around, and the river right there. Skiing or snowboarding is about 30 minutes away. There are several nice places to eat nearby, though nothing fancy. It's quiet and very kid friendly, with lots for families to do: at least two outdoor play areas, two clubhouses with pools and jacuzzis, plus indoor and outdoor entertainment. There are nice walking trails along the river too. The old log cabin is open for guests to lounge in, though it has a slightly haunted feel. One room is retro, with an old vis TV, shelves of VHS movies, and a sofa. The rooms we had included a coffee maker but no coffee, and shopping choices nearby were limited. There was no cell reception, which I ended up kind of liking, but it made coordinating with friends and family at the resort difficult. Wifi was available, but weak and in and out the whole time. I really enjoyed the stay. I wouldn't be sure this is a good fit for someone who has trouble with stairs or is handicapped, though I may just have missed any accessible options.
It was such a clean, quiet getaway, away from the usual hustle. We loved it and already want to come back. Between walks on the forest trails, mushroom picking, mountain air and barbecues, we always had something to do. We also played basketball, badminton and table tennis, and spent time at the pool and sauna.
No cell signal, and wifi was missing in some apartments. Still, there were games and DVDs for family time, plus community pools, a pool table, ping pong and more.
