The Jack London Lodge

A market with homemade food and local wines is just a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel, and there's a pleasant restaurant on the property worth trying. The outdoor pool and surrounding area were nicely maintained, with space for a small picnic. The lodging was very quiet and spotless. A nice woman at the front desk let us check in early, and we had a good conversation with her. I think it's a family business, and they seem to take good care of their customers. I can't imagine a better place to stay while visiting Sonoma.

There’s a bar, grocery store, and lovely French bakery just a three-minute walk away, and the location itself is nice and quiet. The grounds and pool are really nice, too. It's not the fanciest place, but it is clean.

We spent two days at the Lodge, and it wasn't what we expected. It's old and badly needs renovation. The place didn't feel very clean. After we asked for cleaning following our first night, they only changed the towels. The bed was terribly made, and the bathroom hadn't been touched. The price was high for such a terrible place and experience.

Glen Ellen is a beautiful little town in the heart of wine country, and Jack London lodge is a good place to stay. The pool and gardens are perfect, and the saloon and garden at the rear are fabulous. The food there was really good. We also tried two lovely nearby restaurants, Poppy and the Glen Ellen Star. Pascals patisserie, just a stone's throw from the lodge, is great for breakfast, and there's a brilliant grocery store opposite. The beds were clean and comfortable. The only downside was that the bathrooms need renovating. I'd happily stay here again.
