Comfort Inn & Suites Glen Mills - West Chester

We enjoyed our stay. The room was really nice, check-in service was good, and our floor was quiet.

The beds were lumpy, the elevators felt terrifying, and the free breakfast was iffy at best. The powdered eggs and dry toast weren't appealing. There was no A/C in the hallways, so walking to the room left us hot and sweaty. The trash can at the main doors was overflowing when we arrived and stayed that way for two days. A large construction crew staying there partied in the parking lot, and it was loud. The staff were polite, but basic services took asking for. The lobby also had an odd smell, maybe incense, though I'm not sure what it was.

The price made the condition of the bathroom and the lack of help especially unacceptable. The tub was clogged, so every shower left me standing in a foot bath. The room phone didn't work when I tried to call the front desk. I reported everything in person and asked for the room to be cleaned. They said they'd take care of it, but nothing was done. The bathroom was in terrible shape. It was bad service and poor maintenance, with no accountability from the staff. I wouldn't stay here again and would tell others to look elsewhere.

For what it is, this hotel is good. Some of the lower ratings may come from people expecting a Ritz Carlton from a Choice hotel chain. The room was clean, quiet, and had what we needed. The beds were comfortable, and the staff were friendly. Queen suites are larger and include a microwave and fridge. There's plenty of shopping, groceries, and restaurants nearby. The staff were especially accommodating to our airline crew when storms and cancellations left us far from the airport and city, with other hotels booked up. Breakfast was good, with waffles, eggs, sausage, bagels, pastries, yogurt, and more. On a hot summer day it was a little muggy around the hotel, but you can turn up the A/C in your own room.
