La Quinta Inn And Suites Milwaukee Bayshore Area

The place was so gross and dirty, more like a cheap motel such as hideaway than a La Quinta. I don't think they have cleaning staff, and if the owners and their family are meant to clean the rooms, it isn't getting done. The room hadn't been vacuumed in weeks, there was food left in the microwave, and sticky stuff covered the walls and light switches. The heating and cooling unit was so disgusting that I finally left for another hotel. They didn't refund me. I'd booked a jacuzzi suite through a third party, but they wouldn't honor it and gave me a king suite instead. Maybe that was for the best, since I can only imagine how dirty those floors were. Just awful.

The location made getting downtown easy, but the room really let the trip down. It hadn't been vacuumed, the tub was clogged, and my husband, who's a maintenance guy, had to clear the drain before we could shower. The faucet wasn't secured to the tub wall, and there was water damage behind the walls that seemed likely to become a bigger problem soon. Some lights over the coffee area were burned out, the microwave was tiny, and the furniture was badly worn. The sofa in our king room was stained, so we didn't feel comfortable sitting on it. The hotel needs a lot of care and investment to improve the stay. I'm not sure whether it's under new management, but this was the only part of our trip we didn't enjoy.

For what I paid, I expected a lot better. The online pictures gave a misleading impression, and the stay didn't match what I expect from Wyndham. The room wasn't cleaned properly, smelled, had stained carpet, and the bathroom didn't look sanitized. Staff at the desk seemed uninterested and didn't help much when I asked. The hallways were noisy, and the whole property felt run down. I won't return and wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-maintained stay.

Breakfast was supposed to start at 6 AM according to the site, but it didn't begin until 6:30. The pool and hot tub were empty, and nobody had told me. In the room, the beds sagged in the middle and everything smelled like smoke. There was no couch, dust everywhere, a sticky floor, holes in the wall, and food grime on the wall and dresser. One light didn't work, two had no covers, and the light and curtains were filthy too.
