The room had a lingering bathroom smell when we arrived. We opened the windows and doors, but it never really cleared, and I couldn’t tell whether it was a plumbing problem or something else. That was on top of the booking issue: Kirsten at the front desk explained that golf and spa credits weren’t included because we’d booked through Hotels.com, which hadn’t disclosed that. We’d have had to pay full price for both, on top of nearly $450 for one night before the resort fee. Since my son wanted to golf, I’d thought we’d try this golf and spa resort anyway. The regular staff were okay, though not especially welcoming or helpful. The golf staff were a bright spot, friendly, relaxed, and helpful throughout. The resort should offer the same benefits regardless of booking site, or Hotels.com should make the exclusion clear. The stay was disappointing, and I don’t think I’ll return.

The place itself was peaceful and beautiful, with hardwood floors, a fireplace, and lovely products. The staff were great too. I was there for a birthday gift spa visit, and the one letdown was how little product they used, especially the mud and the oil afterward. I could’ve used another coat of body oil.

The room interiors aren’t the most modern, and the dining can get pricey. Still, Salishan Coastal Lodge works well for a relaxed family getaway, with the forested grounds and everything on-site making things easy with my son. I find the Pacific Northwest setting restorative, and the convenience makes the cost feel worthwhile despite those drawbacks.

I loved relaxing in the comfortable rocking chairs outside our room, and the glass float I found was a fun surprise. The lodge was beautiful, with our view looking over the golf course. Having private beach access with our room key was the best part, so peaceful without having to share it with everyone there. Everything was amazing.

The spa area was a highlight, and we also had excellent pizza and beer at the brewery in the shop area across from the hotel. We came for the king tides and had an incredible view of the bay from our room. Check-in was easy and the staff were excellent. Even in the Oregon winter, the beautiful grounds were a joy to relax in. From now on, this is the only place my wife and I want to stay in Lincoln City.
