Americas Best Value Inn Gonzales

The air stopped working while I was napping, and my sister and I had to spend the night in the heat. We both have COPD, so it was very hard to breathe. I don’t know whether the unit had a hole or what, but they said it didn’t. He called us liars, though I can’t say for sure what happened. We also had a big argument over an extra friend staying in the room. There were five of us, with two people on each queen bed and one on the couch, and we’d paid extra for the room with two beds and a couch. The first two rooms had TVs that wouldn’t work, so we moved to a third. We’d stayed once before and enjoyed it, which is why I brought my sister and two others this time. It was a very different experience, and we also had to sleep with bed bugs.

There was a lot of potential here, which makes it a shame that my stay was so poor. The room wasn’t cleaned once all week, and the heater didn’t work. They brought a space heater, but I didn’t feel safe leaving it on. A nightstand had come off the wall, the couch looked like it had been picked up from the roadside, and the bed made a loud dumpster lid slamming sound whenever I moved.

We hadn’t even been there an hour before finding baby spiders in the beds and pillows, plus spider webs on the ceiling. They offered other rooms, but those were mostly the same. While checking another one, I picked up a pillow to look for spiders and was called “disrespectful.” They said, “this isn’t a marriott, i guarantee you THIS room isn’t dirty.” All the rooms should be clean, though. They also blamed “outside” and “Louisiana” instead of taking responsibility for poor housekeeping.

The inside was filthy. The pillowcases and covers were dirty, and the sofa was so nasty that my husband and I didn’t want to stay. They still refused to refund us. Don’t go here.
