Econo Lodge Cullman

A quiet spot, with a clean, nice room and a comfortable bed. The desk staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a really great value. I’d stay here again.

The room had a bit of a smell, and the staff were okay. I don’t generally mind people speaking their native language, but I thought it was rude when workers switched languages in front of customers during check-in, after showing they spoke English really well.

The price was economical, despite a few annoyances. Some permanent guests were playing games outside at night and damaged the outside of my truck. There’s a washer and dryer by a vending machine outdoors, but I stumbled across them and wish someone had told me about them. I stayed two days because of storms and wanted a third, but was told, “I had to go,” since more guests were checking in. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff were friendly and informative, though they seemed short-staffed. Now that I know where the place is, I might reserve a room there, but you can’t count on travel weather.

Days Inn in Cullman is nasty, so trust me, it’s worth paying the extra $10 or $15 for this place. It was farther from where I was going than I’d have liked, but the great price and service made the trip worthwhile, and my room was clean.
