Econo Lodge Goose Creek - Charleston North

I’ve been staying here about a month and a half while working out of town. I was going to get an apartment, but the price wasn’t much different from the hotels, and this place is close to the job. It’s a family friendly, safe hotel with great staff. Mike is an excellent host, and the cleaning staff are great. They make me feel at home. When you’re staying in a hotel, you want that home feeling and safe surroundings, and I definitely feel that here.

I booked one night with my babies during a rough time for us. The room was clean, nothing was out of place, and there were no odd smells. After about five hours trying to sleep, I started feeling itchy, and the babies kept moving around on the bed. The mattress was very hard, so at first I thought they were just used to a softer one. My itching wouldn’t stop, so I got up to shower. When I was about to get back into bed, I saw a black dot in the corner of the bedding. It was a bedbug. I grabbed the babies and left immediately, even though I’d paid for the whole night. The next morning they had bites on their legs and part of their hips. The host gave the best service, and I’m not complaining about him. That’s why I gave 3 stars. Without him, I would’ve given 1.

The front desk service was outstanding and very friendly. When we mentioned broken glass in the parking lot, the guy took care of it right away. Our room, though, was unpleasant. There was hair all over the bathroom and bed, and it had a funky smell. This is the bottom of my husband’s feet after just walking to the bathroom and back to bed. The rooms need to be cleaned properly.

The cockroaches will come home with you in your vehicle, and you can feel bed bugs crawling on you as soon as you touch the beds. Staying here seems like the fastest way to get both.
