My room was warm and really comfortable. The food was very good and high quality, with common allergens clearly marked as absent. There was also a whole gluten free section with bread, buns, and bagels. I'd try to get to meals early, though, since the lines can sometimes get very long. I loved the activities, the service, and the gift shop. The campfire and combine point are worth checking out. This is probably the most beautiful place I've ever been, everything felt like a 10/10.

We love spending time in the beautiful landscape here, and the staff are generally kind and helpful. There are lots of activities, and bringing our kids has always been easy. We've stayed in the remodeled cabins too, and they're a huge improvement. The really old ones were frankly kind of gross. A couple of things still need attention. The tall cabin dressers should be bolted to the walls. I raised this directly when my oldest was a toddler, and now my youngest is in preschool, five years later, with nothing changed. They're heavy, and if a child climbs one and it falls, they could be killed. Of course parents should watch their kids, but even a moment looking away can be enough, which is why people are advised to secure furniture at home. Kids sleep in these rooms, so this could be especially dangerous. I'd also like activities to stay open later. Closing the arts and crafts house, indoor climbing wall, indoor archery, and pool at 5pm is a real bummer. The tubing hill and other outdoor activities could stay open later during summer hours too. I worked at a similar family land center for most of my 20s, and staff could alternate morning and evening shifts. That would go a long way toward making this place as family friendly as it aims to be.

We came for a ski trip, but truly historic weather completely derailed our plans. The YMCA of the Rockies turned what could have been a disaster into one of our best family trip memories. Even with the slopes out of commission, we spent a whole day happily busy on the property. My boys tried both mini golf courses, then spent hours at the Kiva Recreation Center roller skating, playing basketball, shooting archery, and more. My daughters explored the craft shop and worked on creative projects. Every activity was right there and delivered. The Rocky Mountain views in every direction are stunning. It felt like we got far more than we paid for. Snow Mountain Ranch took care of our family when the trip went in a completely unexpected direction. We can't wait to return and actually ski next time.

We love staying here, and there's loads for the kids to do. Two things bring it down to four stars: prices at the craft building have skyrocketed, and large groups can book the pool or rec center on busy holiday weekends, leaving the rest of the guests unable to use them.

Spring break gave us an excellent location and plenty to do, so much of the trip was enjoyable. But our interaction with the lifeguards was very disappointing. We asked a simple general question and got an unhelpful, unnecessarily aggressive response. That level of hostility toward guests trying to understand the rules was unwarranted. One lifeguard with orange hair was particularly rude and hard to deal with, which left a lasting bad impression. I hope management addresses it. Staff who are more professional and approachable would make a real difference.
