SpringHill Suites Grand Rapids Airport Southeast

I wasn’t a guest here, but the staff treated me like one on a stressful day of travel delays. My hotel next door had no laundry service, and they kindly let me use theirs. They also let me work out in the gym while I waited and kept the door open for me. Someone even checked in afterward to ask how the workout went. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the shared shuttle between the two hotels made it easy to get back and forth through all the travel hiccups. I really appreciate how helpful and flexible they were. The people made the experience.

Tara at breakfast was a star. She answered all our questions, and it was clear she cared about the food being good quality. The oatmeal bar was well stocked, but the rest was pretty average: fake eggs, sugary yogurt, and cheap bread. Outside Grand Rapids, this is a good, clean option. The staff were very friendly, and the rooms were spacious. I also liked the modern West Elm design.

I only stayed for under 12 hours, mostly to get some rest before an early flight. The beds were comfortable, and the location is perfect for GRR. The room looked fine apart from a long black hair on one pillow, so I tossed that pillow on the floor. I didn’t spend much time there. The parking lot was very dark at night because none of the lights were on.

I’ve stayed here twice recently, and both times the rooms were clean and had what I needed. Ray, who works the front desk at night, is a really good helper. He’s always smiling, knows how to talk to people, and makes good conversation. When I couldn’t figure out the shower, he helped, and he brought things when I asked without complaining. He goes above and beyond for customers. They should keep him around and treat him well. Honestly, I’d have made him an assistant manager by now. Good guy.
