Comfort Suites Grandview - Kansas City

That pullout couch bed was disgusting, badly pink-stained and full of food crumbs from previous guests. We booked for three adults but weren't given sheets for it. We wouldn't have used it anyway, and didn't ask for linens, but it really didn't look like it had been cleaned between stays. I've seen pullout couches need vacuuming before, including my parents', but this was far worse. The rest of the room was clean on the surface, though dated and in need of small repairs and paint. Walls looked grimy but wiped clean. The bathroom tile was cracked, there were cigarette burns on a few surfaces, and the door needed a hard shove to close. The shower crack startled me because I thought it was a huge spider at first. The sink had stains. Bedding had some stains too, but was covered with clean linens. I checked all the soft surfaces with a flashlight and found no bugs, and my wipe came away clean from the hard surfaces. The room didn't smell like smoke, despite the burns, and the property is supposed to be nonsmoking. The beds were clean, staff were polite and helpful, and the lobby was nice. Noise was fine. I'd asked for a room away from the highway after reading other reviews. We could hear people in the hall and next door a little, but it wasn't bad. The mini fridge was noisy and not very cold, though it kept drinks fine. AC was iffy and the Wi-Fi sucked. Breakfast was ordinary but decent, and there were no bugs. For the price, I'd stay again if I needed a place in a pinch, but I'd inspect the room carefully. Not the worst hotel I've stayed in! 🤣
