Best Western Grants Inn

The heater in our room was ancient. Its cover fell off, it didn't work, and the grinding noise kept us cold all night. Upstairs guests sounded like elephants, and the ceilings seemed paper thin. The bathroom switch turned on both the light and a very loud fan. Even the morning coffee was so weak you could see the bottom of the cup. We reported the heater and asked specifically to speak with manager Wayne. After waiting three days with no response, we called. He blamed us for the problem and wouldn't accept that the hotel should maintain the heaters and check they work before assigning rooms. He was rude and condescending. The place felt dumpy and was way overpriced. We've been loyal Best Western members for years, but after this awful stay we'll avoid it. There are better hotels within 40-50 miles.

I come here every month. It's comfortable, and the people are great. AM Robert is awesome, and Denise does a great job with breakfast. She's lovely!

The room was quiet, and the breakfast space had plenty of seating with a reasonable range of free options. We stopped while traveling on the interstate, and check-in was fast since we'd booked just a couple of hours earlier.

We've stayed here before without problems. It's usually fairly clean, and the service had been good, so we booked through Priceline for a large double queen room. We were traveling with our 7-month-old, who slept in a pack and play. At check-in, the woman handed us keys to room 106, which was a standard room, not what we'd reserved. When we asked for the booked room, she said the manager had assigned them all and she only checked people in. We decided to make do at first. But when we came back, there were black bugs on the comforter. Under the sheets, the mattress had no protector and had what looked like pee and vomit stains. The bathroom was gross, with hair on the floor and folded towels. They offered another room then, but we left for the Sure Stay across the street. They gave us a clean large suite and friendly service. I told Best Western and manager Wayne Hellberg about it. He accused my wife of lying, said it wasn't his hotel, and told upper management the room had been checked and nothing found. We won't stay here again in Grants. I'd spend more for Holiday Inn or save a little at Sure Stay across the road.
