Holiday Inn Express & Suites DFW - Grapevine by IHG

Sarah was very friendly when I checked in, though the front desk employee at checkout clearly didn't want to be at work. The location was great, central and near several good restaurants. Breakfast was typical for a Holiday Inn Express, and an employee in the dining room made sure the food stayed replenished. The hotel is quite dated, and there was no information in the elevator about when it had last been inspected for safety. The room also left a lot to be desired. One outlet had too many things plugged into it, including lamps, the refrigerator, and TV, which concerned me because it looked like a fire hazard. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling above the bathtub, almost no water pressure, and a large crack in the bathroom floor that squeaked when I walked over it. The bed, at least, was very comfortable and clean. All things considered, I would NOT stay here again, though I did want to acknowledge the things the hotel got right.

The gym, laundry, and breakfast were all easy to use, and the hotel was clean. I was surprised by how good breakfast was. You never quite know what to expect at an economy hotel, but this place worked perfectly for what I needed. The staff were really great, too.

Cindy from transportation was especially welcoming and friendly to my team. The whole staff was attentive and made sure we had what we needed during our work meeting at the Holiday Inn Express Grapevine. The spacious conference room was ready for us, with the equipment set up so plugging in my laptop was easy, and coffee was provided. I had an excellent experience and would recommend it for business meetings or a stay.

I found a live cockroach on the bathroom floor and visible mildew or mold on the ceiling, and I have photos of both. These are serious sanitation and health problems that guests shouldn't have to deal with. I contacted IHG, but they offered just 10,000 points, which didn't feel like adequate compensation. I wouldn't recommend this property. Management needs to address these problems, and future guests deserve better.
