Quality Inn Great Bend

The beds and pillows were soft and really comfortable, and the front desk staff were very friendly. The shower left a lot to be desired, and breakfast definitely wasn't worth getting up for. It's alright here if you're only staying a night or two.

The location was good, but I wouldn't stay here again. My room had a bad smell when I arrived. Later, the toilet wouldn't flush at first, and the room phone didn't work, so I had to go down to tell the front desk. They offered to move me, but after more tries the toilet finally flushed. Breakfast was another unpleasant experience. The woman at the desk kept belching loudly, the hot water for tea was cold, and the coffee had grounds in it. The microwave in my room smelled like it was burning when I tried to heat water. I mentioned these issues when I checked out.

The pool was a little chilly for anyone who likes warmer water, though the kids enjoyed it. Our room itself was nice. What concerned me was that its door wasn't fully closed when we arrived, so we could push it open without a key. I noticed many other doors in the hall seemed the same way.

We paid $207 for two nights and the room smelled so musty that we had to buy air freshener at Walmart. The old metal bed frame creaked, and the bathroom was tiny, with the toilet paper roll already three-quarters empty. When we arrived around 3 on Friday, the parking lot was empty. A woman was outside smoking and talking on the phone, then she greeted us at the desk. The room door didn't open on the first try either. For that price, I would've rather stayed at a Super 8.
