Deerfield Inn & Suites

When the snow and ice storm knocked my power out for seven days, I needed somewhere to stay. I’d seen plenty of sad reviews, but the place was warm and clean, even with very few amenities. The staff I dealt with were kind and friendly, and I’m grateful I had a place to go.

I contacted them by message and left a phone message in time to say bad weather meant I couldn’t make it. The room was nonrefundable, and I’d hoped they might show some compassion, but they still charged me a no-show penalty even though I’d told them I wasn’t coming. They won’t refund me. Terrible service. Never again!

I was in my car for less than five minutes, looking up another inn on Google maps because I’m not from the area. Then the cleaner came over, raised her voice, and said they’d call the cops if they saw my car again and that I couldn’t park there. I hadn’t even gotten out. I’d already been told twice they were full: first by the guy at the front, then by staff who came to my window before I got out. I’d driven back to ask about the availability shown online and the 3 o’clock check-in, since they don’t list a phone number. Save your money and sanity, and probably your hygiene. I’d rather sleep in my car than give these people money. Lesson learned, keep driving.

The TV and shower could use an update, but we had a really good stay. The staff were very friendly and let us check in and out early. Better than I expected, and I’d definitely stay again.
